An easy dessert to prepare for this Christmas: Hazelnut latte puppy chow

Hazelnut latte puppy chow

This delicious dessert is a classic that young and old will enjoy! The homemade hazelnut butter together with a touch of pure coffee extract and the Premium Natural Gourmet Mexican Vanilla make it an essential that you cannot miss.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound raw shelled hazelnuts.
  • 2 teaspoons of Mexican Vanilla Gourmet.
  • 1 teaspoon of Pure Coffee Extract.
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt.
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips.
  • 10 cups toasted rice cereal squares.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar.
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon.

 

Instructions for preparing Hazelnut latte puppy chow

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Measure out rice cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
  2. Spread hazelnuts in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet and roast in oven for 12-15 minutes, until toasted and fragrant.
  3. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  4. When hazelnuts are cool enough to handle, spread them onto a large kitchen towel and roll them around with your hands to remove the skins.
  5. Discard skins and transfer hazelnuts to a food processor or high-powered blender.
  6. Add Mexican Vanilla Gourmet, coffee extract and salt.
  7. Blend 7-10 minutes until hazelnuts reach a creamy, buttery texture, stopping to scrape down sides as needed.
  8. Combine hazelnut latte butter and white chocolate chips in a double boiler over medium-high heat, stirring until the white chocolate melts and the mixture is smooth.
  9. Fold hazelnut white chocolate mixture into the cereal.
  10. Once combined, toss cereal with powdered sugar and cinnamon until well coated.
  11. Let cool and store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
